Meet Jovonia
Founder and lead stylist
Jovonia McMillan is the stylist the DMV's most visible people trust with their hair. Color is her signature: deep copper, violet and burgundy, soft blonding and luminous silver, placed with a precision you notice up close and from across a room. Her silk presses come out glossy and full of movement, and she brings the same exacting standard to cuts, curls and color on every hair texture.
Her clients are business owners, government professionals and public officials, people who leave her chair for a boardroom, a hearing or a camera. They come to her for hair that is finished in every detail, and for a stylist who listens closely before she begins.
Jovonia is the founder of Color Me Hair and the owner of two salons: Stylebar DC, upstairs on Columbia Road in Adams Morgan, and Beauty at the Lakes in Laurel. She built Stylebar DC as a home for independent stylists who share her standards, and she is now welcoming stylists to Laurel.
